I think Dave looks great, he and Ed have been clever, by sporting short, modern hair cuts. Their hair is bright, (not grey like Jimmy Page)and modern, they look "with it". Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maidon updates his image. You want Dave to walk around looking like a Staus Quo roadie, with a 1985 hair cut. Dave has always gone for stage costumes, instead of casual dress, his clothes are bright and interesting, it reflects his positive music.

            Firestarter.

You said Dave looks like a lounge singer. How do you want him to look? Dave is looking great at the moment. He looks at least 15 years younger than his 53 years. His new hair cut is cool. If you want nostalgia, go see The Atomic Punks. Dave and Ed have updated their image. Iron Maiden are from the same generation as Van Halen, and are one of the biggest bands in the world now. Bruce did not keep that mullet did he, after long hair bands became a joke in the mid 1990`s.
Whetever you guys think, at least Dave and Ed have not let themselves go. I saw footage of the Led Zepplin reunion show. God, I know their great, but Jimmy Page looked like a homeless tramp on the stage, with that grey, lank, d.i.y, mullet. Robert plant looks like his face has exploded. He looks nearly as bad as Hagar!

Wow guys... just wanted to know where I might be able to purchase a simillar style jacket. ..but I have to agree that the band's current "image" is fine. What did anyone expect? Roth has always been a flamboyant dresser, but at 53; I think his stage "costume" is perfect for him, the band & the times.
