Get Your Tasty VH Show Pics Right Here!!

Fulfilling our duty and obligations of fair journalism, from the very deepest confines at the cost of many many lives, the Roth Army is willing to do what no U.S. newspaper will do: (1)

    (1) At the time of posting, I/we have been unable to locate one single newspaper or TV review on the Van Halen opening of their 2004 Tour. Van Halen, a rock super-group and legend that took the stage for the first time in 8 years, Friday night.

Haaaaaaa!!!!! No the media was under the tarp!

This whole Tour is strange as hell. There was a bunch of media at that Greensboro show, yet not one review article! Best I can figure out is that VH Management asked the media not to report until VH hits a major media market, which would be Philly on 6/16 and 6/17.

The first 3 gigs were planned to be in secondary venue markets while VH gets the training wheels off their show. VH mgmt's idea is still crazy, but that is the best I can figure out on the "media blackout".

He said 14,000 Friday night also if you recall, and $100 bucks says he will say 14,000 tonight at Buffalo, even though ticket sales have been a disaster for that show. The lying faggot is almost doubling the actual ticket numbers.

Secondly, giving away a ton of tickets to drive up total # doesn't count in the true numbers I am giving this forum. Sammy, VH Management, and certain people at VHLinks can ballyhoo inflated concert attendance figures all they want. But the only attendance figure of value is the one on the promoter's settlement sheet. That's the number that counts, and that's the number reported at Roth Army.

There was a discrepancy in the attendance for the Hershey show and I am waiting on a phone call with the actual number. I'll post it with other show data as soon as I receive it.

Overall the show went about the same as Greensboro. Sound was a screwed up mess again, lots of on stage mistakes, Eddie played in the wrong key a couple of times and is still making tons of mistakes. When they all get to singing together they sound like cats f--king! That said, Alex has surprised me with his playing ability.

Further, to be honest I see some real sparks in Eddie, so maybe this guy will come around. In watching EVH he is so fragle and beat down emotionally like a typical addict at his stage. Like I said in the Greensboro review, if he sticks with the easier stuff, and stops screwing with his signal processing "toys" he can sound real good.

Secondly, he seems to have a lot of problems playing Roth era stuff. I thought he was BSing about not picking up a guitar for years, but I don't think we was. He's real rusty and you can tell hasn't practiced much for the Tour. He also still seems real lost on the stage at this point, but give him 6 - 8 shows.

The media WAS under the tarp because management didn't want them seeing what Sammy looks like now.

I will pray harder for Ed. I wonder how much of the not being able to play Roth era is more of a mental block thing. Can't deal with the divide between them. Don't play Roth era, don't have to think about Dave. A reuninting between them could set that to right real quick. You know that there is a lot between Dave and Ed that we don't know about. Yea, we hear lots, but there are some things that are private and I guarantee you don't know. I still think Ed will come out of it. So what if he's a little high strung. Its an artists curse to be so. Double whammy artists curse and addicts curse battling it out on stage live before your eyes. But, if he can beat this thing, have no doubts about the strength you will see at that point. It is just building up. Second child hood coming on. I am anxiously awaiting the passing of the next three shows. Then we will see. I feel optimistic.
