The booze just dumbs him down. He is an interesting guy. I mean if doing what Ed has done is so easy then, heck, more people would be doing it. He's a legend and a tone geniouse. Slash nailed the difference between Ed and all the copycats. Nobody can do it like the master.

The guys that started Matchless guitar amps said the same thing. The real magic begins with the transformers. What has always amazed me about tube amps is you need at least twice the watts RMS in a solid state power amp to match the volume a tube amp puts out. At least with the mid and lower frequencies.

Wow, this is a version of Ed can really respect. Hope he stays sober and focused.

I did think it rather ironic that he says "You gotta take chances" right before taking a drag off the cigarette. Indeed.

My god! The tone and playing coming off that first video sounds like ASS! Is this some kind of joke?

That was interesting, even for us non-gear people.

                      Cast aside your doubts, grashopper.

Plug in and play that funky music.

I get tired of Slash talking out of both sides of his mouth. In one interview he says he wasn't into VH and didn't like them, too much "glam". Here is is gooing over them.

hmmm, well at least he seemed to make a really good point about how so many guitarist in the 80's missed how Ed's playing was rooted in the blues.

This thread blew my mind ...

Fuckin' Ed man, how hillarious indeed hearing him speak for the first time after the "taking of a chunk from his tizounge" incident n' shit! ...

I need that fucking amp, part II's da best ... I freakin' can't believe the story of "crash testing" ... fuckin' nuts man ...

In his book,Slash mentions many many times how much he loves Van Halen and Eddie.

Its a great book. Its a lot better than I thought it was going to be.
