VAN HALEN Taps R&B Singer RYAN SHAW to open on Second leg of tour..

VAN HALEN Taps R&B Singer RYAN SHAW For Upcoming Dates - Feb. 7, 2008

According to antiMUSIC, VAN HALEN has tapped R&B singer Ryan Shaw to support the second half of the second leg of their reunion tour.

Shaw is nominated for a Grammy this year in the category of "Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance" for "I'm Your Man" from his debut release "This Is Ryan Shaw".

Shaw's official site had this announcement about the tour: "[Ryan] will be going on tour as the sole supporting act for VAN HALEN starting on February 22nd! The critically acclaimed tour features VAN HALEN's original singer, David Lee Roth, who has not performed with the band in over 22 years."

Bob Marley's son, Ky-Mani, supported VAN HALEN on the first leg of their reunion tour.

WTF? That doesn't make any sense for an opening act for VH.
      This space for rent.

Both times I saw VH this tour Ky-Mani thanked Davd Lee Roth specifically and then Van Halen for the opportunity.

Given Dave's varied musical tastes... as evidenced by his varied solo sounds... it seems that HE is the one suggesting the opening acts... I can't see Alex, Eddie and esp. not Wolfie recommending these two acts.
