Van Halen 2007/2008 have been getting a lot of rave reviews.
Overall, deservedly so, in my opinion.
Despite the sometimes slipshod nature of Ed's live work these days, overall it is pretty amazing these guys were ever able to even get it together, much less play as well as they are now.
If someone had said a year ago the band would be back together (well, most of it, anyway...), playing well and selling out arenas across the country, I'd have said no fucking way. It seemed like it was FATED that these guys just couldn't get their shit together and never would.
Well, they got it together...got it together well enough, anyway.
God bless 'em.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment

I agree 100% .... Whats blowing people away is
the automatic trainwreck they expected..
Well fuck.... That didnt happen..
If we could distance Sammy and bring back Mikey there
would be jiz all round....
Like everybody else, I wish thats whats going down,
but to see 2 generations of Halen with Dave,,,,
Fuckit I'm all for it..
Wish they would play secrets and hear about it later...
But the set list is to die for...
Seriously I have heard versions of some of these songs
2007/2008 that sound better than the original studio versions..
Kick ass Halen dudes !! (and Dave of course)BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
Love ya Mary Frances!Comment

I find it strange that Wolfie gets away without being slammed in these reviews. The kid just looks so out of place and lost up on that stage.
It does piss me off a bit that he got the VH gig on the back of his dad rather than what he could bring to the table.
But that said I guess I would rather have a Dave led VH with Wolfie than a Sammy version anyday.
Back on topic now - Good result!
