Japanese Cardboard Sleeve Reissue Series Announced

    Anyone seen this?

VAN HALEN: Japanese Cardboard Sleeve Reissue Series Announced - Feb. 15, 2008
Warner Bros. has set an April 23 release date for a six-album VAN HALEN cardboard sleeve reissue series featuring the following albums:

    "Van Halen" (1978)
    "Van Halen 2" (1979)
    "Women and Children First" (1980)
    "Fair Warning" (1981)
    "Diver Down" (1982)
    "1984" (1984)

Each cardboard sleeve reissue from VAN HALEN comes with a replica original jacket, original labels, and original Japanese Obi strip. Features remastering from 2001.

An Obi strip is a loop of folded paper usually found around the left side or bottom of a Japanese or Taiwanese LP record, music CD, video game, or book. It features the title and other information, such as price and catalog numbers. The name comes from the sashes worn with kimonos and martial arts uniforms.

    Found it on Blabbermouth:

      This will be very cool.

And no, I did not know they were coming out with these.

KISS had a very similar release of their classic albums on CD sometime ago as well.

Actual vinyl reissues would be more spectacular, IMO...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

              I will get these re-issues.

              The Japanese do it right.

I have about 20 of the Elvis Presley 20 and 24 bit remastered re-issues and they are head and shoulders above their U.S. counterparts in packaging and sound.

Cool in theory, but every cardboard cd case I get, gets crushed and mangled up amidst my other hard plastic cds.
