689 people. You've got to be kidding.
689 people in a sea of millions isn't even on the map. A company like that is not going to listen to 689.
Companies rarely pay attention to those things anyway. -
The thing with the various members of Van Halen is that there have been so many various legal maneuvers since the mid 1990s; the royalties were renegotiated on the residuals on the studio recordings, Anthony had to sign some sort of legal waivers to play on the 2004 tour, Roth at one point sued the band...one would thing Warner Brothers has some sort of ownership stakes in some of that footage (have read WB filmed shows or put up some of the money to have shows filmed on the WACF, DD and 1984 tours), and nobody in the band is even with the label anymore...
Who owns the rights to the US Festival footage?
Think it's more a question of sorting out who gets what cut of said hypothetical CVH vid release than any concerns over how much it will sell. I don't KNOW that this is the reason why, but it's reasonable to assume that if the Van Halens are currently touring the oldies with Roth that they can't be too objectionable to such a release...Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment
