    Who should produce?

Terry brought up an interesting point in another thread.

Let's say the inevitable happens, and VH gather at 5150 to record new material with Dave & Wolf.
Who should get the nod as producer?

I think most will want Ted Templemen, fewer will want Ed himself to twiddle the knobs.

How about Jack Douglas from early Aero fame?

Whoever it is I hope if it does happen it will be staight up rock like early V H .
Fuck the keyboard bullshit and electronic voice enhancement .
Maybe one good cover tune .
If they could get Page to produce maybe a classic Zep cover.

TED FUCKING TEMPLEMAN should produce ED von Halen & DAVID LEE ROTH.........

EVH knows what he wants as far as his sound goes....

DAVE & Ted would shape EVH's ideas into actual SONGS...........

Ted produced the classic Montrose debut, along with the first six VH records (and bits of F.U.C.K.), plus the Doobie Brothers.

Donn Landee was the engineer extraordinaire on those early VH records as well.

Post 1984, Ed's tone became as limp as Hagar's lyrical ideas.
I still have no idea how one can end with a crushing blow of brown, like House of Pain, and come back a couple years later with the positively sterile sounding 'Good enough.'

"Hey cool, i sound like everyone else now!"

Every one in the band would have to agree on the selection, right?

The fifty-one-shitty denizens would probably shoot down TT. Dave? Any ideas from him would get shot down via popular vote.

Business heavyweights would suggest the normal choices.

                    Personally?

                    Aldo Nova producing

Didn't have to someone else answered .
I was pretty sure he did all the C V H stuff but was unsure of the Van Hagar .
Even though I know that this is the ultimate I hate Sammy website , I thought "Montrose" was a classic.

That's fucking brilliant. Just for poodles and peanuts? What did the mind numbing gangsta rap outburst have to do with anything? Do you even know who Aldo Nova is?

I sincerely hate what you have done to this site. One post...that's all it took. People are already crying in the fetal position. Even me. I'm laying here right now on my side...trying in vain to see the monitor....crying.

                          Please leave....I'm begging you!

Pleaaase, back to the roots. Close the circle with something great or just don't do it...

We don't want another Toto album with a fat singer.
