Bury him in the backyard, no one gives a shit.
Roth, to some extent, is the past as well.
Ed is drinking because he's not engaged, musically.
He's in a creative rut by revisiting the stuff he wrote decades ago, which in turn, makes him unhappy & more likely to drink & fight.
Ed is an artist & he has a drive to create not rehash.
For better or worse, this is his lifeblood.
I think Ed needs a new direction to keep himself interested.
I'd love to see him do something with Jimmy Barnes, at this point in time.
The vintage stuff can never be duplicated like it was in 78-84.
They can mime it, but the feeling & spontanaeity that defined VH is long gone.
