The story has always been that Val originally went back stage to meet Dave. She only hooked up with Eddie when Dave wouldn't give her the time of day to try to make him jealous.Comment

That's not the way it went. She and her brothers got to go backstage in return for Val taking bags of M&M's to the guys and getting her picture taken for this radio station promotion. Her brothers set it up and she said yes because she thought Ed was cute. Dave happened to be the first one she ran into, but it wasn't planned. They talked a bit and that was it. I heard her say in an interview going waaaayyy back that she seen an 8-track of WACF in her brothers car, but didn't know who they were, but mentioned that the singer was attractive and the guitar player was "really talented" - she got hooked up to meet them backstage down south somewhere and ran into Dave first- she mentioned that Dave was "rude" to her- the exact details were never given by her. Then, It was off to Ed's lair.
Her spin has changed somewhat in this book.

Val's brother David is a professional photographer and had a studio in Park City, Utah when I lived there. I asked him about how Val and Ed got together because it was an interesting match. Dave said they were huge VH fans and their Dad worked for General Motors in Shrevport, LA and VH were coming there. They wanted to go backstage like everyone did and they had a famouse sister so they hit Valerie up. They said she really didn't want to do it until she saw a photo of the band and thought some of the guys were cute. LOL!
Val didn't go looking for Dave. The tour manager introduced her to Dave first because Dave was the spokesperson of the band and the kind of guy you would introduce guests to first. Ed really wasn't much of a people person. Especially then.
Val's brother said Eddie was one of the guys who she thought was cute plus, he was who they wanted to meet so who knows if it was Val looking for ass or her brothers motivating her to invade Ed's space in the tune up room.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment
