    For Edward Van Halen...

Despite the fact that I have said some pretty severe things regarding one Eddie Van Halen; I sincerely hope that you are able to conquer whatever bedevils you. And I really think you may want to listen to the following National Public Radio (NPR) story package:

Alcohol-dependent patients who received topiramate, a seizure medication, had fewer heavy-drinking days, fewer drinks per day and more days of continuous abstinence than those who received placebo, according to a study in the Oct. 10 issue of Journal of the American Medical Association.

    Best wishes...

Does Ed have any real friends?

    I mean real friends!

Hell Eddie, get in touch with me dude.

    I'll be your wingman, motherfucker!

Leave your money and fame at home and let's go fishing and forget the world and your woes.

Seems that Ed simply likes drinking.

The times he's entered rehab have been to either make his (ex) wife happy or clean up for a tour.

I mean, he can take medication that will help him stop drinking. Sure. Sounds like just swapping one addiction for another.

Alcohol and drug addiction is a bitch. No fucking doubt. Without getting all Dr.Phil about it, I have some personal experience on this shit. Comes down to the user in the end; if you wanna stop, you can and will. If you're stopping something you like doing just to please other people, that sobriety rarely lasts.

If Ed really wants to quit, I wish him all the best, for whatever that's worth. I get the feeling he really doesn't, though. Dude gets cancer and keeps on smoking. Dude keeps on drinking even after he's lost his old lady because of it. Dude lets himself go to the point where he looks like a fucking hobo a couple of years ago, gets another shot at the big-time, cleans up for a while, starts drinking again.

"...but I likes that bottle...better than the rest..."

Friends? Bwaaahaa haa! When your wife of 20 some years divorces you and writes dirt about you, you've blown it with her and when you fire bandmates who have been with you even longer on a whim, damn, nobody is going to like you.

Ed has fans who would gladly lick his asshole and waste all their time worrying about him and his life more than their own. So when I think about it, yeah, Ed does have friends at Links. :D
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

Just let the record reflect, that when the train derailed as predicted.......

it was spED [as predicted as well] that was the CAUSE of the derailment, not Dave.

And the fact this derailment coincided with Val's tell-all on Oprah is in fact, no coincidence.

This is the RNRHOF debacle all over again, only with pissed off ticket holders.

            No way. This is worse.

            This isn't a one-time TV appearance he's fucked with.

It's the future (or lack of future) of "his" band.

This tour actually lasted longer than I thought it would.

Yeah, I got torched on the non show Mar. 5, but it was a good thing
if you look on the bright side.

I opted for the refund instead of witnessing his not remembering
HOW TO PLAY HIS OWN FUCKING 20 YEAR OLD SONGS!

He's done. He has nothing left. I think he realizes he reached his creative peak a while ago and it's tearing him up.
On every one of those boots, he looks like he's trying too hard to
improvise, or maybe re-invent himself, and he keeps coming up empty.

Or maybe the tour was really to feed his ego, and now he's full.
Dave's been alot more humble than he has, that's for sure.

As far as Dave, Mike, and anyone else that used to be in that band is concerned, they will ALWAYS be typecast to that old VH legacy no matter what they do. That's a helluva hurdle to leap over, even for Ed.
