Press Release Handout At Vh Shows

I read that there is some sort of handout given to fans at the current Van Halen shows. Supposedly it says something like "Dave took himself out of the game when he sued the band." Does anyone have any information about the contents of this flyer and if it adds any more insight into the DLR/VH relationship? Find it hard to believe the band would make such a statement, because it's pretty much admitting Sammy was the second choice for the reunion (as we all know by now).

"From the moment Edward Van Halen kicked cancer in 2002, a reunion of the "real Van Halen seemed inevitable. Whether this is actually it depends on the flavor of Van Halen that best suits you. This isn't the vanilla of Gary Cherone, a fine singer in over his head in the late 90's, trying to lead a veteran band that had alrady sold nearly 50 million records. Neither is it the spumoni of Diamond David Lee Roth, who took himself out of the game by suing the band, then portraying himself as it's heart and soul, even though it's been 19 years since he left them(aside form the ill-fated reunion of 1995). Tonight's show, my friends, is from the rum-raisin' Van Halen, with the social director of Cabo San Lucas, Sammy Hagar, keeping things wild, fun and slightly more sane than Diamond Dave."

I really dont think this was put out by the VH brothers though....But who knows....
Diamond Mafia Forever - 4. To restore fullbug to the prominent place in this board, after various serious attacks by hitch1969 have now damaged his reputation and now is reguarded as a "Retarded, Stoned, Canadian, Dog finger bangin' fuckup"

I would kinda doubt the VH brothers would put that out, but not beyond the realm of possibility. If they did it was totally classless.

Was this handed out in the arena, outside or what? And why? Who's benefitting from this?

Take your pic, it's either VHLINKS or the band themselves that actually put that flyer out. I wouldn't put ANYTHING past either one of them.

Rock 'n' roll isn't supposed to be sane. Fucking stupid press release. It's almost as if they're apologizing for not having Dave there.

Geez it's so fucking hard to tell who would put something like this out. If anything, it's something that i'd expect from Alex, I mean that comment about Gary Cherone is pretty low and classless. And what is said about Dave is just way below the belt.

But in all honesty, I don't think the sisters are behind this.

Maybe Sammy wrote it? We know he loves patting himself on the back.

I was at the Albany show in June and the ONLY flyers being passed around were by me!

They said "It ain't Van Halen without David Lee Roth"
