Online petition for release of Oakland '81

Hey guys and gals. I know this idea has been bandied about before, but I've been thinking that we should seize the opportunity here and send the mighty ones a message that we are GODAMN SICK AND TIRED OF WAITING FOR THE RELEASE OF OAKLAND ON DVD. But, of course, not in those words.

There are some free online petition sites that would let us and everyone we can get sign our names and then we can send it to VH's website. Then, maybe, just maybe, the boys will actually here about it.

I don't know. Could be a waste of time, but since Ed and Dave are working together again now would be the best time to try. I'll set up the petition. Please tell me what you think.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that no footage outside of the three Oakland '81 Vids (Unchained, So This is Love and Hear about it later) was ever shot or archived, so no total concert reel exits ??

Noel Monk or Pete Angelus, I don't remember what one it was, has full concert footage from each tour with Dave in their personal vault. I think that I read that in the Inside magazine when they interviewed Mikey Anthony a few years back. I don't know If the Oakland footage is part of it. I think that was Don Kirshner's rock show that filmed them in Oakland. I have a cd of that show (not great sound) and the band is killer on every song. Dave is really good that night !!!

Thanks for the responses everybody. Another wrinkle in this might be that Mikey may have some legal rights to the footage as well since he was a performer and that could complicate things. But, Im gonna get to work on putting petition together. STAY TUNED.

Supposedly the 1980 World Invasion tour was filmed to be released as a documentary, but (obviously) wasn't.

Regarding Oakland 1981, Dave said all three Oakland shows were filmed, but only the thrid night was a keeper (although according to Warner Brothers, special attention was paid to the first show). The three live FW promo vids that resulted from this cause confusion about exactly which show was used for the videos.

Warner Brothers filmed the 10/12/82 Largo, MD show.

Dave is more than aware that there is a demand for this footage out there...I'll gladly sign a petition...one would think now that Roth is working with the band again, this would be an ideal time for something like a classic live dvd release to happen.
