Obviously your sense of what sounds "great" varies quite vastly from most everybody else here. Personally? Having seen him live twice and heard numerous boots over the years, Hagar's attempts at hitting notes outside ofg the studio always sounded like he's sitting on the toilet with a bottle of Ex-Lax in hand, straining against all odds to just push that stubborn shit out. If that sounds "great" to you, you're welcome to it. Personally, though, I'd rather have a drunken DLR slush his way through a concert and skip half the words - at the very least, he's A) more fun live and B) playing material with the band that I actually want to fucking HEAR instead of ignoring the vast majority of it to play his own solo shit. Who's egocentric again?

Music to my ears! Then again, I'm not a big Janis Joplin fan, and Sam always struck me as the male version of Joplin (without all of the ability to write witty lyrics and stuff) with the raspy voice that lacked inflection. Yes he has a strong voice, but I'm not a fan of it particularly..
