Shows how much you know about the people on this board.

Many care, and I've been one of the many saying "who cares" about if/when they ever record again. I was simply pointing out that instead of recording, we get more product. God, you're thick.

But you carry on with your bad self. You really seem to have your finger on the pulse of camp spED. :D

Many of us have cut him plenty of slack. But this is the same fuckup who couldn't make it to the Hall of Fame, or even through the last tour without "health issues" [read: bottle flu] cropping up.

CVH is dead. But I caught them live in their prime more than once, so I'm not too concerned.

I'd like to see Dave go do something on his own again, though. Before it becomes too late. Waiting on spED can be a death sentence.

AND, I'd really LOVE to see Dave test spED's "you can't be in 2 bands at the same time" rule.

I don't have knowledge on what is going on within VH more than anyone else does smartass. I also couldn't care less if Ed decided to sell his 5150 pattern underware.

In my opinion, Dave without VH was nothing more than a glam 80's rocker, as VH without Dave was a sappy Air Supply wanna be. Togeither they rule, apart they sucked.

Dave is VH and he knows all to well, that's were the money dwells. He's not gonna go against that.

As for me being thick, that's what your old lady thought as well. She got tired of playing the pencil dick game.

Ah, the old "I fucked your wife" comeback. How original. I'm sure if you saw her, you'd want to. But alas, she has no interest in stool-pushers such as yourself. Sorry.

Let's go back to your "I don't have knowledge" That's the smartest thing you've posted here yet.

Aw, that's ok LL. It really is ok to display and wear your blue ribbons that you got for being the number one meatflute player throughout the years. It's 2009, nobody is gonna think bad of you. Wait, nobody really thinks of you at all.

Someone shoved one of those things in my hand at
a party about a year ago (I was full of piss and
bad manners as usual). I failed miserably.
(It wasnt RWTD, I think it was Sabbath, Iron Man maybe ?)

Yet I could play the same tune correct on an old

I hate how that game is making kids think they
            can migrate the controller skills

Im sure they could adapt this shit with a real

Activision is set to announce a new game franchise, called Meatflute Hero.

Some of the high profile "performers" participating in the game include Elton John, David Bowie and Paul Stanley. Other lesser known masters of the meatflute such as Boy George, Dave Navarro and Gary Cherone have lent their endorsements to the game, according to Activision spokesman Rod Shaft.

"I think it's wonderful the artists themselves have really responded to what we've tried to create here" said Shaft. "We practically had to rip the controller out of Gary Cherone's mouth during the product testing phase."

"He also tried to shove the thing up his ass, but it wasn't designed for that, he got a mild electric shock."

He added, "We apologized and assured him the final retail product would be properly insulated to avoid the danger of electrocution, but he insisted we not change a thing. He was so impressed with our product he took home a half-dozen or so controllers for his friends."

Meatflute Hero will be released on March 31st for Xbox 360, and December 26th for PS3.

For your dumbass comment and attitude. Atleast i wasn't known in highschool for being the meatflute player of the band, like you probably were, jackass.
Lounge Queen like most liberals, do not believe in Capitalism. It is a sin to make money. Heaven forbid Ed continues to make money off of the legend he and VH created through years of rigorous touring and trying to top the last album to please the fans and stay on top of their game. Gee, there was no pressure on Ed at all during this time. At least the guy and his band didn't fall into obscurity like Dokken and Ratt. I didn't see either of these bands selling out arena's last year. Heaven forbid, he takes some time off after a successful come back tour and witnesses his son graduate. Yeah I think we would all love some new music with VH and Dave. ACDC pulled it off recently, maybe VH can do the same.

My thoughts on Ed and his constant whoring of gear & such - I would be much more disappointed had he not finally given us the tour with Dave. At least he finally had his ass pried from his home studio and gave the fans that don't buy expensive guitars something they desperately wanted. As far as Guitar Hero...I'm all for it. Exposes the music to an entire new generation of fans. Kids that age are going to play their games regardless if it's a guitar hero or Grand Theft Auto, House Of The Dead, Halo, etc... At least with Guitar Hero they are more likely to physically interact with friends and be exposed to some terrific music without killing, stealing, buying drugs, hookers, killing cops, etc...that many other games involve. BONUS.

All in all, I believe Ed is just feeding the VH beast with the reunion with Dave, tour, new guitar, magazine covers, Guitar Hero, etc....Now when a new album drops, maybe the kids will buy it too. Watch for it to be a special deal at WalMart similar to AC/DC.

                  AM I WRONG? Fuck, easily could be. I was in 1996, 2000, 2002, 2004..........

Totally agree.... It's an excellent marking scheme, especially if they're gonna get back into the studio later this year.... Not to turn this into another "What VA would do if he were in charge of VH's marketing" thread....

Check out Youtube and search for the GH "Hot for Teacher" (or is it Rock Band, not sure).... That thing is hard enough for the kids that they appreciate that hey, Van Halen must've been pretty damn good !!!

Well VA, I agree with your strategy, however as Account Manager I'd say you screwed the pooch with regards to timing.

IF that was your goal, then you would have NEW product to release to these young, new found fans, right after or during the release of the game.

NOT 2,3 or even 4-5 years later. [this is spED, remember?]

By the time spED gets his shit together, starts pre-production, writes, records, mixes, masters, and releases this new material everyone is so sure is coming, the little "new fans" will have moved onto the next thing.

Their attention spans are that of a dog in the park, afterall. If someone else starts throwing a frisbee, they're gonna go checkk it out.

HAD the release of this game been timed to coincide with new material, and a tour, I'd say you had yourself a successful marketing strategy on your hands.

But let's be honest. 98% of the people who are going to BUY the new disc, are already fans of VH. Unless spED plans on hooking up with Timabalnd ala Chris Cornell :D

Dave will never perform solo, or make another solo record!
