does that riaa site have the figures for Dave's solo stuff? it would be nice to see just exactly how many copies each record sold. especially A Little Ain't Enough...there's always that debate of whether or not it sold a million. same for Filthy Little Mouth...whether or not it actually sold 500,000. some will say they did, some will say they didn't. just curious about the real numbers, that's all.

Dave didn't sell as many albums, as a solo artist, as Van Hager did. BUT Dave didn't have the overhead and costs of Van Hagar. Dave ended up making more money than the members of Van Hager initially.

Early 90's Van Halen sisters ended up making more money than Dave, because the "Nirvana wave" crap destroyed the rock-n-roll industry and very few rockers including Dave could get a National promote. EVH was still enough of a draw and his Peavey side venture, etc. that he could still get a National promo and the rest of the band coattailed.

        Who's the winner:

Well Dave isn't going to an early grave now is he, like EVH.

Dave's up at Southampton NY, over the Memorial Day weekend, banging high society chicks with mountains of cash, hanging out with one of the biggest female porn operators on the East Coast, (see pictures in my Dave Southampton thread-I'm making a Major Post Update on the porn chick this week, very wild!!!) while Eddie's "praying on the porcelain god" in the bathroom.

Dave's a millionaire, Eddie is not and has blown most of his fortune.

You tell me who the longer-term sales winner is?

I'd be willing to bet that on average, Dave's solo albums sold better than Hagar's...

No question, based on the strength of CFTH, EEAS and Skyscraper.

yeah, it says that ALAE was certified gold. nothing on YFLM.

of course, record companies need to follow up on the certifications.

it's entirely possible that ALAE sold 1 million by this time, but that WB just doesn't care about a dropped album, so it let it slide.

                Wasn’t it something like this?
                CFTH: 2 million
                EEAS: 3 million
                SS: 2 million
                ALAE: 500,000

Shit, did a single Hagar solo record ever go Platinum? Let alone MULTI Platinum?

None of this shit would be an issue if that fat tub of goo didn’t walk around talking about Van Hagar selling 60 million records. God damn I hate that twat.

I'm fairly certain that Hagar's "Standing Hampton" went platinum and VOA possibly did, but, just like with the VH 6-pack vs. Van Hagar there is no contest in total units sold with Roth the clear king.
