Everybody Wants Some - Ian Christie book

Sorry for the old question, but I just noticed this while trying to find an inexpensive copy of this book...

Was this purposely published with two different book covers ??

I had always thought that the book came with this cover:

But then today I also saw this one...

So were there really two book covers made, or is #2 a bootleg version ??

The second cover is the paperback version, released August 18, 2008. The original hardcover version (the first image) was released a year earlier, August 27, 2007. Cover changes are nothing new as a book makes the transition to paperback. The books are generally smaller, so publishers more often than not opt for more distinguishable and less cluttered graphics.

Unfortunately, neither cover can make up for the fact that this book is pretty much a bone-dry distillation of a series of news articles that every die-hard VH fan has read countless times by now. For the novice VH fan only.

Yes, nothing new to be found in these pages. In fact, the various previously printed interviews by various band members used as quote sources in the book are often used out of context of the original interview date vs. the year being discussed in the book.

While I suppose something is better than nothing, I'd also imagine any one of the 100 or so top-posters on this site could have come up with a much better effort using the same source materials.
