Dave is scared to death of Ed and Al kicking him out the band. He is obeying Ed`s orders, not to give interviews. The Van Halen brothers are humuiliating Dave!

You know what? I actually agree with you on this one. Except for the humiliating part. However, if a new album is recorded and Dave is muzzled in the studio as he has been in the press, I'll change my opinion on that too.
