Women In Love
I'd love to see about a 140 minute set from them with no bullshit solos or anything. Just all tunes with some crowd interaction from Dave but no long winded thing like he did back in the 80s. If they took an intermission that would be fine. Some covers from the old days would be cool. I always liked their take on The Who's version of Summertime Blues.
I really have no desire to hear new music from them unless Mike is back in the band.Comment

Sad to say, I doubt we'll ever hear "On Fire" again. The Dave scream was too much a part of that song, and I don't see how 50-something Dave is gonna work around that one.Eat Us And Smile

You're probably right but I really like that song. It wouldn't be the same for me without Mike singing with Dave either. That's one thing I always liked about that song. I don't think Dave's voice sounded all that bad until 1994. If Dave started doing a vocal strengthening program he could probably make alot of gains in his upper register in no time.Comment

I think his voice has come back a long way since the 1996 mini-reunion. He was singing great on the last tour, just without the scream.
But that's mostly age. With assists from tobacco and alcohol. But let's face it, none of these classic rock singers can do everything at 50 that they did at 20. Hell, I'm 12 or 13 years younger than Dave, and (though I make no claims of being a professional singer) I can't hit the notes I could when I was 20 either. And I never even smoked anything that wasn't green.Eat Us And Smile

I do too, it's come along way from 1999 DLR Band tour. There's still alot of really great rock singers in their 40s and 50s and I agree Dave was singing great on the last tour.
The green stuff is worse for your voice it makes your vocal chords bleed. Neither are awesome. Cigarettes are my vice. I really need to stop so I do have a voice when I'm older.Comment
