With all of the music available in the world at any given time... why someone would intentionally choose to listen to anything that Hagar is involved with is simply beyond my comprehension.

I could change my name to Ex-Hagar Fan and start denouncing all things Hagar

In all seriousness.....I'll stop posting here once the original lineup pulls it's head out of it's own ass and starts touring again on a real reunion tour with the setlist to end all setlists.....

So, what you're saying is that if EEAS wasn't EEAS, it would be better?

As in, if the Roth Army wasn't Roth Army it would be better?

Or even, if an orange wasn't an orange it would taste better?

That AND the fact that if it was EEAS but Ed, Al & Mike played on it, it would be better? Because, you know, it's not how it sounds, it's whoever's playing on it.

              You're confused. Confusing. Confusinged?

I'm a very opinionated guy. When someone talks about quantum physics or soccer, I shut up. 'cause I have no idea what they're talking about, and don't want to look stupid trying to talk about something I don't understand.

              Maybe you should consider that.

Oh, I have no doubt Dave was somewhat of a fan of Jackson. Being a frontman himself, it's only natural that he'd look at other frontmen, always trying to improve. And yes, pedophile as he was, Jackson could put on a show. No wonder Dave would watch. He still was a pedophile, though.

As for being a fan of Fergie, Stefani or Beyonce... who gives a fuck?

I'm a hardcore old school Heavy Metal/Hard Rock fan, and you wouldn't believe some of the shit I enjoy. Evern if the general catalogue of such and such artist sucks, there may be a good song there, and I'll listen to THAT song. I'll even give you an example - I listen to The Bee Gees' I Started a Joke. Yeah, I do. Just that song, nothing else. I hate everything else.

I'm also a huge, rabid, Neil Diamond fan, and will fight anyone to the death who talks shit about the guy. There's more to his music than just the radio hits.

Bottom line: it doesn't matter what you listen to, as long as you listen to it with your ears, not someone else's.

              Cheers! :bottle:

                    LOL!

A few weeks ago I had to rip my vinyl copy of Neil's "I'm Glad Your Here With Me Tonight" so I could add it to my ipod...

That made 475 Neil Diamond songs on the ipod, bitches!

1-Skycrapper...for the title track and Damn Good alone. I'll give it an 8 out of 10

2-EEAS...not as good as CVH...close but it still ain't CVH no matter how many VH fans want to claim it is. 3-5150.....for me it's a tough choice between this and Balance I find Balance to be underrated. A solid 9...would be a 10 with a different song besides that piece of shit Get Up...Bejesus that song sucks

4-OU812....call me nuts but I like this one the guitar riff in B&B is huge and Classic Ed....a solid 8...well maybe a 7 1/2......Sucker In A 3 Piece is really bad. A Political Blues is meh

5-DLR Band...not perfect but a great effort by Dave it put a smile on my face when I put it in my cd player. I would have liked to have seen Dave follow through with doing his own label and seen him start playing more material from Fair Warning and WACF but he didn't. I think it's a solid 6 out of 10.

Skyscraper with all of it's faults....no Billy, bad production, a Tuggle-synth driven Dave record....is actually quite good. Dave's voice is still great too way better then how he sounds on records that followed. Skyscraper and Damn Good are the best songs Dave ever did after leaving Van Halen. I also like Perfect Timing, Hina, Bottom Line, Knucklebones and JLP alot.

For the record I Hate F.U.C.K. about much as I hate YFLM. I think both records suck incredible amounts of shit. I do like one or two songs off F.U.C.K. but Van Hagar deserves the bland, boring tag they get from alot of people with this one.

I don't hate ALAE...it has it's moments. It's better than F.U.C.K. but it's still a shit record mostly. It's better than YFLM but that's not saying much
That is definitely an interesting list. I'm not sure how you rate Skyscraper as number 1 with an 8 out of 10 and then put EEAS as number 2 with a 9 out of 10. Nevertheless, it is a trip to see anyone put Skyscraper at the top of any list so i have to give you a hand. I can't relate to putting Van Hagar in front of any DLR but you probably saw that coming. That being said, you weren't afraid to throw it out there anyway. So, again i have to give you your props. You seem pretty level headed despite all the shit that has been thrown at you so i must say you are not easy to bash. Don't go sending me any friend requests but you're alright in my book.

While the facts may well bear that out of the last two "Van Halen" tours, the Roth-fronted version of the band performed better commercially, it's really of little difference...least to me.

Shit, even if the record-sales figures were such that Van Hagar had outsold CVH, well, what does that mean? Not much. For me, it's the way I react to the music that defines the bottom line in terms of my own appreciation.

Despite the amount of tickets sold, in my opinion Ed's playing on the 2007-2008 tour was probably the weakest he has ever displayed live, and the large gross the tour generated doesn't change that. Best of my recollection (not having looked up the sales figures in quite some time) the 5150 album outsold Fair Warning. Doesn't make a dent in my preference between the two.
