I can think of all sorts of CVH material I'd like in a Van Halen boxset.

Problem is, the boxset that would actually be released would probably be half Red Ched era stuff that I have no interest in. If that were the case, the CVH stuff that made it onto the boxset would have to be some pretty rare stuff that had been cleaned up very well in order to counter paying a boxset price when half of it would be Hagar stuff I wouldn't even bother with.

Hopefully the receipts of the 2007-08 tour vs those of Velveetapalooza 2004 have cemented the reality in Eddie's head that the fans prefer Van HALEN to Van Hagar, and the box set, if and when it exists, will be cheddar and tequila free.

And to paraphrase what Dave said about the reunion itself for years..... I believe the box set is "inevitable".

They should take note of what Dagger Records is putting out with a Hendrix bootleg release of live material from 67/68 Paris/Ottawa shows.

Cool fan pack... Vinyl record, poster, shirt, vintage handbills, picks, ipod skin, and the CD.

Something like this with either US Fest, Oakland or Largo shows would be number 1 on my must-have list!!

1. I say remaster demos, unreleased tracks and covers from bars and club days.
2. Remaster CD and DVD of the US Festival 83
3. Maybe include the entire DVD of the Oakland concert in 81
4. DVD with clips of various concerts from DLR era
5. DVD of a concert from 07-08 tour.
6. Booklet of pictures from the band over the years
7 .maybe a T-shirt, stickers or baseball cap.

1. If they have all 3 nights of Oakland 81 they should release all of them...or just the best night

2. I agree completely.....any and all club gigs with Mike Anthony. But I'm not interested in hearing any gigs when the math teacher played bass.

Inside the REAL VAN HALEN boxset there better be a few other things like

As far as the concert if you ever put any on DVD you can always rip the audio and make your own CD.

Yes, but the brothers have fucked us true fans over for 22 years, Ed has made the first move by getting Dave back, but he still owes us this and much more to make up for all the years.
