What crack are you smoking? Vai is still not a Household name. He is a household name with guitar players and he was when he played with Zappa. Besides, he left DLR to put out Passion and Warfare, which was huge. That disc really brought him to the status that he is at now. I love Dave, in fact I am listening to him as I type this; but you need to get off the pipe.

Sheehan doesn't deserve to play with Dave again the way he left the band right before the Skyscraper tour. What an asshole. Besides, Sheehan is nothing more than a frustrated guitar player. The bass guitar was meant to be in the background, not the foreground.

At this point, Vai's probably having too much fun playing guitar god to really give a shit, but hey, who knows. I know I'd go and see them.

I think Dave should just stay put with the guys he's got now.

I've always dug DLR, no matter who's in the band. Vai's Live at the London Astoria is pretty badass..The band actually opens with "Shyboy". Great show with great tradeoffs between Vai and Tony MacAlpine.

Wrongo....as stated before...Vai butchered the VH songs live touring with Dave. I saw it...have boots on audio, too. Multiple nights.....he sucked at the VH tunes. His tunes he did good...VH..trash.

Vai and Billy both have flipflopped their public opinions towards Dave. I saw a few G3 shows this past tour with Yngwie...and even got to meet Vai. Another guy there asked Vai as to whether or not he'd rejoin Roth in the future...and he plainly said it aint happening. He loves playing with Billy, but the 2 of 'em are too booked up and dont seem to have any free time to devote to a "reunion" of sorts with DLR. It WAS talked about, slightly in the not-too-distant past, between Dave, Billy, and Vai...but no go. Funny thing is...the same guy asked Vai if he thought Dave would ever work with VH again...and Vai said if he was a bettin' man, he go with VH reuniting with Dave by 2005. Interesting....so i thought. Anyway....Roth should just do a record with his band he has now.....or wait for VH....'cause i think that 2005 is the year of the return of the original VH....and the farewell of them as well.

I'd like to see every mother fucking name mentioned above at an all day party with stage, gear, and an asskicking soundsystem...get them all drunk and high, aim them towards the stage and sit back and watch the magic (or fist fights) emerge...

Ya know, there was a time when it was the music that was the important thing, not ego's or financial agreements.

JUST FUCKING SHUT UP AND PLAY, DAMMIT!!!

                      (sorry, inside joke:D)

i missed my chance to see them on the skyscraper tour. the public at large wouldn't take much notice of an EEAS reunion, but i'd go in a heartbeat.
Thanks dude!! EEAS reunion would be bigger then you could imagine because of all the fans Vai has gained over the years. When I was at the G3 show and Steve opened with Shyboy....The crowd went crazy!!

Imagine all the beautiful women at this concert......I doubt there is any at the Hagar show....LOL

Well, Shyboy was a Talas song first, so I could see them doing that whether they had recorded it with Dave or not.

Steve Vai was actually approached to do the DLR Band album, but couldn't so he pointed Dave to Mike Hartman. Bissonette was also asked and couldn't so he pointed to Ray Luzier (who kicks Bissonette's ass.) I've also heard that Dave has a little resentment towards Vai because he left to join Whitesnake. And YES I've got legit sources too.

Not old news....I hear he still bitches about Vai leaving him. However, I didn't say he wouldn't work with him again. I just doubt we'll ever see the EEAS band reunite.

steve vai can pull huge crouds to this day easpecially when him and satriani team up with whoever for g3. I saw them on Wednesday hight with robert fripp, and that guy might as well have not been there.

The sad thing is they were playing the clyde auditorium, the same place i saw DLR ealier in the year and what a difference. G3 was packed probably sold out in fact, however with dave the place was half empty. Dont get me wrong dave played a blinder of a show, my point is Vai doesnt need dave right know as hes enjoying himself too much. Probably everyone that goes to see him are guitar players and there girlfriends.

Until vai starts to struggle to fill venues and the money stops coming i dont think he would consider a reunion with dave.

Oh yeah and whats the deal with steve anyway, the guy just doesnt age, you look at him and eddie or dave and what a difference.

                                DLR & Ted Templeton

If I remember correctly, Eat'em and Smile was produced by Ted Templeton who also produced all the original Van Halen albums. It seemed like Dave and him made a good team as far as the records turned out. Whatever happened to Ted?
