Someone over at the Zeppelin forums ran into Alex on a plane... I hope he doesn't get mad that I'm quoting his post here... nothing major, but a few funny bits about Zep & AC/DC...

I just had the good fortune of meeting Alex VH last weekend, he was on the same flight from Denver to LA as Led Zepagain. We got to chat with him while we waited for our bags after the flight, and I gotta say, what a really nice guy. He did mention that they will be working on something new, but that "these things take time," so definitely don't expect anything soon. Seems to me they won't have something out before this new tour. He seems genuinely into having Dave back. I told him that I've been seeing him since 1978, and he asked if I saw any recent shows. He was realy happy to hear that I did, and thought it was great.
I told him I first saw him at Oakland Stadium in 1978 (the lineup was Aerosmith, Foreigner, Pat Travers, Van Halen & AC/DC), and he said, "Yeah, I remember that, never go on after AC/DC!"
I told him not to worry, VH definitely held their own that day!
He also told us that 5-6 years ago, he & Ed decided to contact John Paul Jones to see if he was interested in working with them, They called him up, and as he said (in his best fake British accent), JPJ told them, "I don't play bass any more, I play the mandolin!" He laughed about it, and said he doesn't know if that was just an excuse and maybe he doesn't like them!
We did, of course, invite him to come sit in with us any time! I'm not holding my breath on that one...
