I would say that Wolf has a slightly better relationship with his Ed than Michael Anthony.

Do you really think it will be Wolfie actually playing on record? He's never been in the studio to record and Mike hasn't played on a VH album in years it was Ed.

You better prey to the rock Gods that Ed records something with Wolfgang. That is the only hope we have to getting Ed to record something with Dave.

You people that worry about Dave being in the band crack me up. With Dave in the band they play big arenas and make megamillions. With anyone else, even Sammy Hagar, they are playing clubs or small theaters at best.

"Highest grossing tour in band history" is another way of saying Dave is in and everyone else is out - FOREVER!!!

Couldn't care less if Ed records something with Wolfgang - it is Dave's involvment (or not) in all of this that worries most of us......

Well Ed & Al are sober and according to Ed so is Dave.

Dave is certainly clean. He flys a helicopter and works as a volunteer EMT. You can't have dirty pee for either. I wouldn't want Ed flying a helicopter above my house.

Actually, his dad (my half brother) 3-4 years older than me, is a total cool dude too.
Only recently cut his hair short, but he and my nephew go to every (and I mean every)
Rock concert in Australia. All the stuff we like.
So they do still hangout that way, but you are right, I think my nephew is
starting to do more his own thing now he has hit the magic 18. In Oz
you have all rights at 18 (voting, driving, drinking, gambling, whatever
you want)

All you people worrying about whether or not Van Halen will ever record a new album are missing the point.

Ed absolutely loves working with Wolfgang and one of Ed's most important goals in life is to make music with Wolfgang - including recording albums.

Ed is dying to record music with Wolfgang and we are all going to be the beneficiaries of that.

So stop worrying and start celebrating the fact that with Wolfgang on our side several new Van Halen albums are an absolute certainty!

Here's a couple points.
Nobody's holding a gun to their heads and saying an album must be out by such and such a date so you need to prepare x number of tunes on x time frame by this certain date, where they'll be recorded in 2 days in this studio.

They have to have someone cracking the whip or they'll go around in circles, re-recording and what not, and the dynamic of the old days is gone. (where Dave or Templeman, or Mo Ostin or whoever or whatever contractual obligations would be driving them to completed material) We know they have the material !

There's no sense of urgency here. We just get look we have to do this, then that and the other thing and THEN we'll start to work or whatever.

But there will be time for new guitars and equipment to be released, and EVH brand sneakers don't hit the market.

Thanks for the encouraging post and all, but it's a different ballgame here.
