I think they have some great music and it's just a question of will anything ever happen with it. The riff Ed did on the Charlie Sheen show was pretty amazing and he's played it at Namm. No doubt he's probably built it into a complete tune.
The fact that we haven't heard Dave say he's not involved is a good sign.
Steve Lukather's heard whatever music they've accumulated and said it's incredible and much like the old stuff. And that was years ago. You have to factor in the bias that he's a friend of Ed's .

It's a shame that anyone who catches any of these guys with their video camera is too starstruck or excited to ask them why they don't release albums.

So you can get past the point that it's not CVH with Wolfie in it if you can merrily STEAL the new music?

You're a fucking piece of shit. Go irrigate your bowels with floor stripper you stupid dolt.

YOU and people like you are the #1 reason we don't get no new music. So on behalf of everyone on the board waiting 20 years plus for the new one to come out, I wholeheartedly pray for your self-immolation.

That is simply not true, Gar. NIN gave away some music. Who was that other guy that said, pay what you want. Everybody gives away some music now. It is part of promotions.

Fuck you if you don't like it, slutmuffin.

Tell you what, shitfuck, why don't you go out and buy two copies if you're oh so righteously concerned about Van Halen losing 15 cents on my account? God knows I've pushed enough booze up to Ed's fucking mouth by buying half-assed albums all these years. Look at it this way, it's my way of giving back to him for all that he's given to me.

            It's a public service.

And while you're buying a copy for me, since YOU have such a vested interest in it, why don't you go blow another homeless alcoholic behind the library you maggot-ridden piece of afterbirth?

            LMAO

Whatever. Keep selling yourself that bullshit, MAYBE someday you'll actually be able to convince yourself of it.

Compared to me, you'll never win any popularity contests, so I'd be real fucking careful about how many people on the board you claim to speak for...

My standard operating procedure is to purchase anything DLR is a part of. Hence, the inclusion of Strummin' in my collection. Hell, if Dave sang background vocals on something i would probably buy it.

Ed absolutely loves working with Wolfgang and one of Ed's most important goals in life is to make music with Wolfgang - including recording albums.

Ed is dying to record music with Wolfgang and we are all going to be the beneficiaries of that.

So stop worrying and start celebrating the fact that with Wolfgang on our side several new Van Halen albums are an absolute certainty!

Not so much worrying, since by this point it really doesn't matter much anymore ( + the 6-pack is a collection that I never get tired of listening to), but it'd sure be neat to hear what Ed and Roth could come up with.

Ed may well still love coming up with and recording music, but his track record of the last 11 years (remembering that Wolfie has been in the band for 3 + years now) in terms of getting new stuff released has been, what, 3 new Van Hagar songs and a couple of tunes for a porn soundtrack?

That output isn't exactly one that would lend a person to conclude that several new albums are a foregone conclusion.

Just ONE new album would be enough...and the sooner the better, because realistically Ed's next relapse is probably right around the corner, and the Van Halens, Roth and (most importantly) myself aren't getting any younger.

Won't it be a wierd feeling to have a brand new studio, David Lee Roth involved, Van Halen disc in your hands? It is a feeling I barely remember but miss oh too dearly. Frankly, i don't care if it is Wolfie, Michael Anthony, Jeff Pilson, or Izzy Slapnuts on bass. I just want Van Halen with DLR in it. Am i asking for too f ' ing much here? Ok...i'm calming down...breathe....breathe...

I don't actually believe it's Van Halen anymore. Roth or no Roth. To me, it's the same thing every other lineup has been since 1998, and that's another version of the Eddie Van Halen Band. As far as I'm concerned, Van Halen died together, for better or worse but in TRUE Van Halen fashion, on stage at the MTV Music Video Awards in 1996.

I have absolutely no excitement in me about another Eddie & Friends project at all.

I know where you are coming from. That is why i prefer to think of it as a Dave and friends project. I have no allegiance to VH and thus you will never catch me over at the links. My only allegiance is to DLR and if he chooses to do another supposed VH album i am on board. Whether it meets the true definition of VH is of no concern to me but i understand it could be for others.

I agree completely. I am a Dave fan exclusively. Not a Van Halen fan. I am interested in anything Dave is doing. I have no interest in anything Van Halen does without Dave. That said Van Halen is the best backing band Dave ever had. I like to call it David Lee Roth with the Van Halens.

Anthony is a good background vocalist but he is so madly in love with Sammy Hagar that I no longer have any use for him. Bring on the mad Wolf!

                              VH is recording!

I was watching the 2008 show from Baltimore. During the show Dave said that they just started recording for the first time in many years.
So if they started back while the tour was happening, they must be cooking up something really HOT!!!
