Yes, I think Van Halen can release an album by May 2010 if they wanted to. They may have already started some recording. Or if Eddie truly does have material ready to go, I don't think it would take long for Dave to add lyrics.

But this is Van Halen we're speaking of. Waiting for an album may be like expecting Axl Rose to show up on time and not throw a hissy fit over some non substantial thing.

If you're being honest, then I will too...my post was in jest. But if you want to see (or hear in this case) the erosion of Van Halen...here is what you do:

1 - play "Eruption" & "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" from the first Van Halen album

2 - play the tracks "Inside" & "Love Walks In" from the 5150 album

If you want to go even one step further which I highly recommend against doing, you can add step 3 if you choose.

3 - play the tracks "How Many Say I" & "Dirty Water Dog" from Van Halen III

It's ok if you want to be a fan of all of the above songs separately. But the key here is to remember they are separate. Just because they carry the same brand name on the cover does not mean you are getting anywhere near the same product. It's like buying a can of Coke and finding out it has 7-Up inside...or even worse, Clamato juice.

It's all speculation and even that is hard because of Ed's " truth credibility" and the delays such as his hand surgery. If what they have said is anything to go on the tour would kick off early summer 2010 and preceded by the release of their new Cd in the spring.

Are you talking about 'The Best of Both Worlds' collection, featuring the 'Up For Breakfast', 'Its about Time' and 'Learning To See'? To my ears they are certainly not proof that Eddie's 'still got it' - they sounded like a Van Halen cover band that had tried to write its own material. What was it you thought was good about them?
