Mick Jones did some great work singing with The Monkees...

        oh...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."

FUCK, to this day, is the only Hagar album that is worth a shit...aside from a couple of tunes on 5150...and I'm pretty sure I liked a tune off OU812...I'd have to go back and look to remember. The couple of 5150 are...hmmm...Summer Nights and...I can't remember the other. I can't remember the OU812 song either...but all tended to be tunes I could hear Dave growl on...

          I did like FUCK though...

No, it wasn't a classic album, but there were some fucking tunes on there that had some potential...although the fucking rhythm section sounded like muted farts...

            FUCK...

Didn't Johns come in and fucking roll with FUCK...but they'd be in the fucking studio for weeks for one song because fucking Hagar wouldn't show up. He'd pop in here and there, and Johns would get pissed off.

So Hagar rolls out Templeman to work with his vocals...so Johns worked with the band, and Templeman worked with Hagar.

spED then got political afterwards and said something like, Andy was the idea guy, and when we needed to wrap up the song, we'd bring in Ted.

That was code for, "Johns was awesome, got the ideas out, but fucking Hagar was a bitch and wouldn't show up. Templeman held his cock for him until he finished the song."

Here's the irony...I think Andy Johns produced Chickenfoot...because he had produced Satriani (Time Machine), while Templeman actually went on to produce a Bette Midler tune. Yeah...the actual Bette...no...not him...the actual Bette...

            Ahhh the irony...

I like the music and intro to I think the song is called Dejavu on the last Van Hagar cd. Dave could have made that one really Vintage Halen sounding.

I should point out that it was while Dave was still in the band. I had herd Ed's studio was called 5150.

I thought 5150 was a good album on a musical level. Hagar's lyrics - ranging from boring to corny - ruined several songs. But didn't Eddie write most, if not all of that album with Dave?

OU812 had its moments, but sounded badly produced.

badly produced for a reason. indeed.

5150 is passable, because I can hear Dave all over that album. Influence Dave had...

Yeah, you can tell which half of 5150 was written before Dave left the band, and which half was written with Hagar.

Sammy has admitted that the cheese ballad about aliens pulling tampon strings was the first thing they wrote together, and that pretty much says it all about Van Hagar.
