    VH Tour Struggling

    Rocky Mountain News

Some huge tours are out there. Madonna is not coming here, but her shows are selling out and pulling down $2 million a night.

Prince is the other tour this year with a string of sellouts (including
one sold out and one nearly sold out at the Pepsi Center), bringing him nearly $1 million a night.

But much of the rest of the industry is near dead, as evidenced by this
week's cancellation of the Lollapalooza tour before a single note was
    played.

The concerts seeming to do the worst business are the ones coming
through for the second, third or even fourth time in recent years: Kiss,
    Fleetwood Mac, Styx.

But even the heavily touted Van Halen reunion show has been on sale for weeks, yet fans can still get tickets in the lower bowl of the Pepsi
Center, 14 rows from the stage.

    Rough road

    Tours doing well:

    • Madonna

    • Prince

    • Kenny Chesney

    • Shania Twain

    • Jimmy Buffett

    • Allman Brothers

    Tours that are struggling:

    • Van Halen

    • Lollapalooza (now canceled)

    • Alanis Morissette/

    Barenaked Ladies

    • Kiss

    • Norah Jones
  • John Holmes

Perfect. Let Eddie Van Heineken and his miserable and washed up fat singer fail miserably and be outsold by ridicoulus "musicians" as Madonna.

It's seriously sad knowing that Ed & Al could get themselves outta this hole if they just BEGGED Dave to return. But nooooooo...egos are way more important than happiness, right? Ok Ed, you decided, now live with the consequences of your choice(s)......shame though for the rest of us....

Yep, its all about egos to Edwardo and Alexia. The name of the band is VAN HALEN and its their name so they want to always be the ones in the spotlight. Too bad they don't have the personalities, brains, or charisma of Roth !!!!!!!!!!!

Oh please! Selling tix by putting them at discount prices don't count as sellouts...and make no mistake....it's a FACT that they're going thru desperate measures to sell tix.

Oh by the way, Van Hagar STILL sucks.

And his performance at the 4th of July will be free. FYI - i have heard he will be soundchecking on the 2nd and there is a run through of the show on the 3rd (both days, less crowds). Great opp to see DLR.

                              For the LAST frickin' time-

Pollstar is NOT in ANY way reflective of ticket sales, nor album sales... not of ANY type of sales, ok!!

It simply is a glorified "web counter" which reflects the number of times people searched for the artists. No one with half a brain puts any measure of significance into it whatsoever because there is nothing of legitimate significance there, period. It is far too easily manipulated by the likes of you, also...

Oh, and you look like an ignorant tool for posting it.
