When Brownsound1, hain23x and I were first made webmasters here, we began getting weekly e-mails from a guy that called himself VHDeepthroat, that started with an e-mail to me that had several "stolen documents" claiming that VH was going to reunite. The docs looked absolutely legit, and we had to laugh...because the guy must have spent hours making them...

We posted them, and they caused quite a stir early on here at the Army...

Prior to that...at the Links...there was some dude who started the most laughable rumor that I had ever heard...the now infamous David Hasselhoff rumor...

We watched it start...then saw it take off...actually landing in a major German newspaper...with quotes...that Hasselhoff was the new lead singer...can't remember the Cat's name who started it...perhaps Vinnie can help out...he was around back then...

Lots of good ones though...over the years...Christ...I'm so fucking sick of guitar techs though...I mean...fuck it...just say you talked to spED, or his hot, whore, wife...

There I feel better...... rumors in the world of Van Halen are like dealing with cow shit in the cattle business....it occurs daily, it's a bitch to deal with and reeks to high heaven.

So we are only left with what the members of the band have to say....Dave ain't talking and the last nugget of info, to my knowledge, was Ed bitching about how if they did put out new music they would; A) Lose their asses on it because all his fans are fucking thieves. B) Even if they did put out new music we wouldn't care because Eddie remembers the 2004 tour so vividly....he remembers the fans not liking the new tunes him and Hagar put out.

We are left with Ed saying that it's not worth putting new music out and they'll more than likely just cash grab.....Yes, all we have to go by is Eddie's words and we all know how honest this fucker has been.

Would I listen/download any new material before I gave these fuckers one more dollar, yes. You know why Ed? Your musical output over the last 20+ years has fucking sucked, period....You know why nobody gave a Shit about VHIII, it fucking sucked...You know why nobody gave a fucking shit about your new songs and tour in 2004, it fucking sucked........are you seeing a pattern there, Ed? You've only had two good songs since Dave left the band and guess what? Those songs were both done with Dave....You've only had one huge tour in how many years? That was with Dave, too....are you seeing a pattern there, Ed?

It was two different user-IDs, one of which was a pretty close variant of Michael Anthony, and it turned out that he hated Jews interestingly and I believe it was around 2005.

The Links actually did have Sammy Hagar's nephew posting there a while back, but some of the shit he said even made the most die hard Van Hagar fan croak with laughter: like that a Sammy Hagar tour would outsell a CVH reunion...

He got a few early "hits" that I attribute to luck and maybe having some access to the outer periphery of rumors. Then he just became completely full of shit, and would back peddle, then claim "I told you so" when he clearly was wrong and just was making an ever greater steaming pile of horseshit...

Anthony's brother still checks in from time to time over at the Links. He's fairly tight-lipped about things, but will shoot down rumors that are hopelessly false.

Not to mention his posts were at times nearly indecipherable, bordering on gibberish like his uncle's lyrics. EVH jumped all over him, saying "The song ain't finished yet!" and walked away in a snit. I gathered the impression the kid wasn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer, which when you think about it, is pretty much a family trait as well.

Was talking to Eddie's guitar tech from the last tour ( he lives in the same area I do ) said he was told told to clear the schedule for summer 2010 on because after a album is complete the band would be hitting the road.
