Eddie is such a fuckin idiot, did anyone read the article in Guitar World???

He says, he now likes the attention from the crowd when they scream his name and he actually believes his guitar work is a masterpiece.

Ed claims without him or his brother there is no van halen, WRONG! David Lee Roth will always be Van Halen, Ed might have the same last name but he can't live up to the band's name!

Without DLR, there is no reason to discuss anything regarding VH!

What's funny us had Dave not decided to name the band Van Halen, Ed would never make a comment like that. In the long run, bad move Dave, but it just goes to show he did whatever was best for the band.

Are you guys serious? Without solid musicianship behind him, Roth would have been a joke. I love the guy but the brothers gave him credibility back in the day and helped him make his rep. On the flip side, of course without Roth then the brothers would have stayed a party band. It was the combination of showmanship(Roth) and musicianship(Brothers) that made them what they were.

I agree with you, but how come immediately after Dave left Van Halen their music turned from bombastic Rock to crappy AOR-wannabe shit ?

What I mean is: if the brothers were the musicianship side of the band, the music should have stayed the same, while instead the music turned from Rock excellence to mere AOR mediocrity.

Because the team of Eddie & Dave were better than the team of Eddie & Sam. Songwriting credits aside, interviews with Dave and Sam seem to point out that the other 2 didn't have much input in writing.

Right ! So, not only Dave brought showmanship, but musicianship as well.

Surely Dave is not a god on guitar, but he can contribute in lyrics, vocal melodies, structure of the song, pretending a song to sound right and not like "It's about time" and so on.

I think a lot of people think Van Halen music was all about Eddie. But Eddie was 50% of that, most of the time.

Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd claimes he's written a lot of things on Pink Floyd albums and plastered everything with his sound, but since Waters left the band he struggled to come up with only 2 albums in 17 years.

Eddie came up with three new horrid and shitty songs in almost 7 years.

These facts speak louder than any lie Eddie and his sister throw at us in their pitiful interviews.

When Dave's solo stuff sounded more like VH than 5150 did, I realized how much influence Dave had in the songwriting.
