Once upon a time, a highway manager hired a guy to paint a stripe on the road. The first day, the new guy painted half a mile of road, twice as much as everyone else. As time went on, he painted less and less each day, until he was painting only a few feet every day. The manager went to see why he did so great at the beginning, and now it is less. What he found out was the guy would leave the bucket at the same place and carry the brush to the end of the line. by the time he got there, there wasn't much paint left on the brush.
