I think it's a funny post in response to everybody getting their panties in a bunch anticipating VH's next move. How about some advice I learned in the 80's with anything related to VH: Expect Nothing. if apples fall off the tree then pick one up. or find the right tree to shake.
Current state of Van Halen revealed!

Sorry, Dutch..I didn't come in with a chip on my shoulder, or to derail your thread, or jump you to the point you felt the need to swing back.
For some reason, I have to log onto this site repeatedly to post a reply, and by the time I'm actually 'logged on', a couple of posts have gone by.
I'm not someone who looks to stir up shit, or fuck with people for no reason.
Like I said, it was wrong of me to crap on your thread...my problems aren't your problems.
Just out of curiosity, exactly how long do I have to be a member, before I can 'mix it up' with a senior member?
The comment wasn't unrelated to the topic, as you're the one who put it there yourself. As far as I'm concerned I was on topic.
The Bonaduce comment is scarily accurate....
'Tis all good, friend.
There's no time limit on mixing it up with anyone...new or old! Just be ready for what transpires because there are some people on the site who are masters at breaking people down....
Anyway...

and God Bless THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN!Originally posted by perilouspete

There's something I've wondered about Ed...do you suppose he lays down rough drum tracks of his own to present to AL.
Not to sound like a doof, where Al is his brother and drummer, but as Ed originally started on drums and may or may not be inspired by an idea in the middle of the night, do you think he has a small kit up at 5150 to bash out ideas on, or would it be a drum machine/ protools?Comment

I think it's safe to say that noone here would ban you just for being a wiseass/smartmouth/wisemouth/smartass/assmouth.

True, there is a myriad of post/thread topics on this site but after all the common ground is,.. We are all more than just a little bit hungry for some music that we all know is "perhaps" a bar or two above what we can find on the shelves these days.
To me it is just like politics, wake me up when China slams into the west coast.
And who sais it was a drum part.? don't they sell electric motors and machine parts at Graingers..?Comment

True that, Dutch! Believe me, I've been a spectator at this site for at least four years. Folks here can be brutal, but incredibly hilarious as well.
This is the one message board that has caused me to laugh out loud on several occasions.
This is a good place, with good people...I'm glad I made the jump and finally joined.
'Tis odd Ed would go to Grainger for some drum gear...but then, when he was a lad, he invented some pretty cool shit out of nothing. It would be cool to see that innovator return.Comment

Craig already posted the video from the pron soundtrack and while very basic, Ed can play drums.Originally posted by vandeleurE- Jesus . Playing both sides because he didnt understand the argument in the first place :DComment

I only believe this in the sense that Van Halen time isn't quite the same as everybody else's.
So when Al says once a day, he may actually mean once a year.

Al also stated in an interview around the OU812 period that a track from that album features a drum intro that was one of Ed's beats. The thing is, the beat is merely a segment of a riff from near the end of Sabbath's "War Pigs", played on the kick drum.Last edited by chefcraig; 03-03-2010, 02:06 PM.
