You are just getting to grips with the fact you may be halfway through your life and then you suddenly realise the second half is going to fly by at 3 or 4 times the speed.
Then you vow to really really made the best of that time.
The next day you make 30 posts on a hasbeen rockstars fan website...
Your next 12 years will go by twice as fast as the last 12.
It's all to do with percentages of your life, from 15 to 20 is a quarter of your life when you are 20. From 35 to 40 is just an eighth.
Soon you are spiralling out of control on a rollercoaster getting faster and faster as you head to the inevitable eternal blackness and nothingness with only the funerals of loved ones serving as place markers.
