I think the dream could well be over. Dave is better off without them, the way things are going. Even if he never set foot on a stage again (not that this is likely!) it's gotta be better than being part of this awful parody of something that was once truly great...

There's no way Dave would be willing to take it on the road, with EVH so obviously incapable of even playing his own stuff, this shit really is embarassing. And I think if Dave tried to drag Ed and the others up to scratch, the shit would just hit the fan again and it'd all be over before it even started. Ed can afford to ignore Hagar and be as sloppy as he has been, but there's no way that'd go down with Dave. It'd just be another Battle of the Egos meltdown.

From the selfish point of view of an Old School fan, I still want to see a reunion of the real VH. If Eddie can sort himself out on a personal level, I'm sure they could recapture the magic.

However, if Eddie remains a dysfunctional mess and Alex can't get over his bitterness, Dave should stay well away and keep doing his own thing. Dave appears to be enjoying his life, so why hang out with these guys?
