Thought I heard of a possible dvd from the 2007-08 tour in 2010? I also thought since Eddie appeared on Lopez recently that some good news was to follow. I heard a recording on youtube of a new song; or song I haven't heard before. Kinda sounded similar to 'Wise Magic' & 'Can't Get This Stuff'. I didn't know if it was from 1996 or 2010.

Wonder about another tour? Does anybody think they'll be up for it again? I saw VH twice in 1984 when they released that album. They seem to still have it in 'em. Their just so damn quiet. Maybe no news is good news?

The word is they're in the studio and are putting an album together that may or may not be out over the first half of 2011, with a tour to follow. There is nothing official, but Dweezil Zappa and John 5 have both stated that VH is at it and both claim to have heard bits of it…

I actually heard 2 stories on "boneyard" sirius Satelite radio today..One was from melodicrock saying the album was finished over the july 4th weekend and will be out next year...the other was from Speds wife/publicist saying they havent been working on jack shit...I tend to believe the latter...

Thanks VAiN. That's good news. Although I miss Michael Anthony, I thought Wolfie did a good job on their last tour. I just hope he's excited to be a part of his dad's legendary band. I think they still have the energy it takes for a Van Halen comeback. Dave and Ed definitely appeared to be in great shape on the 2007-08 tour; not overweight and out of practice like some of my other favorite 80s bands I've seen the last few years. I still don't know why they haven't released a concert video. There's some pretty good footage on youtube just from fan cell phones. Some of the best footage is always from a balcony seat on the right (facing the stage); almost like the videographer (if that's a word) was placed there by VH. Seems the one's I watch on youtube from that location are always clear with good sound quality. Don't know...just saying

So Janie, Ed's wife, actually said they haven't been working on the album? Wow. That's bad news if it's true. Please tell me Dave & Ed aren't at it again. They are sooo great together. Get over it already. They're 2 creative geniuses who can't agree; but when they start putting music together (like the great Fair Warning album - my favorite) they're f**king phenomenal!

at a friend's party this weekend. one of the guys who works for him is in a band, this guy has a friend who "knows" eddie. he's been to 5150,they have an album done. they have 6 new songs and some remakes. the album sounds "chunky"?

They can even sing some of their old songs they don't usually sing on tour, like 'Drop Dead Legs' or 'Take Your Whiskey Home' (love that one) and what about 'Top Jimmy'? I like that one too. Mix it up with whatever they tried to do in 1996; add the new 6 songs...I'm THERE. Remember 'You're No Good' and 'Dead or Alive'? Play 'em!! Just don't break up again, Dave & Ed, if you're out there....

Well, to be honest...she didn't say that. She just said "the current rumors are just that, rumors. I have no update this time".

So you take what you want from that. Could be the album is done & she is trying to stop leaks so they can announce it on their terms.

That's how I take it... She didn't say there isn't an album.. just that there aren't any updates right now... I believe we'll see an album by summer 2011 at the latest.
