MTV: Shinedown singer story about EVH

Pretty sure I've heard this before, but anyway...

MTV brings viewers the best in lifestyle and competition reality shows, plus live events featuring the biggest names in entertainment.

We learned something about Eddie Van Halen recently: the man does not like wet hands. The lesson came courtesy of Brent Smith, the lead singer of Shinedown. As the story goes, Brent and his band were on tour with Van Halen back in '08. During the tour, Brent and Eddie had become bros and one day Brent pulled the classic high-five-with-a-wet-hand prank on Eddie. Pretty innocent, right? Well, Eddie didn't seem to think so. We can't tell the story of how the guitar god got his revenge as awesomely as Brent did, so check it out below in the first installment of our "Now I Can Die" video series.

Watch the clip. The guy mentions the 2004 (Crickets Chirping) Tour.

I remember this guy telling this story a while back, and it wasn't related in such a charming manner. At the time I thought it was somewhat ironic for the guy to be making fun of another fellow's issues, considering Shinedown had to dump one of their own members for drug related problems.

Eddie. What a piece of work. Brent does not say if the friendship was over at that point. I would guess "yes".

        Oh dear.

Love Shinedown! Brent has the best voice in rock and roll today - and that's live too!

Saw them last summer front row center bellied right up to the stage, so close they were sweating on me. It was a beautiful thing. Awesome show!

I wonder if Eddie was sober or not. Either a classic rock star moment or total dick move, your choice.
