To assume that CBS had in any way considered Dave -vs- Van Hagar as a selection for the 4th entertainment is purely dilusional at best. But the reality of the situation is the reformation of Van Hagar and the nostalgia tour was not even a remote consideration let alone a brain fart in the CBS boardroom. Odds are even better that Dave living and playing around in the social scene in the NorthEast probably has a lot more to do with his involvement with the Boston Pop than anything Van Halen related.
