Called A Dj At Arrow 93.1 Last Night

I would rather not mention which one I called since they probably need to remain neutral about things like this but anyway they had just played a classic VH song (Arrow 93 hardly ever plays VHAGAR) and I said to the person "thanx for keeping it real and playing DLR VH". The dj was really cool and we talked for a couple of minutes and I then explained that DLR era KILLED the VHagar era in sales and that many people didn't realize because they never bothered to check the real numbers. The dj said to me "I always thought they sold more with ROTH" and then when I mentioned the severe lack of respect Roth gets the dj said "I know" in a very agreeable tone. Pretty damn cool if I may say so myself. Hagar is a fucking liar. Period. I was proud of myself for spreading the real word. I don't care if people think I'm crazy, it's about time everyone realized that VHALEN is DLR, ED, ALEX, & MIKE. No one else qualifies.

I DISAGREE-- THE DJ WAS A ROTH FAN

Like I said I will not reveal the dj's name because they have to remain neutral but I could tell they were a DLR fan all the way. You can hear it in someone's voice whether or not they agree with you and this person agreed with me. As soon as I started talking about DLR they asked me what my name was and took the time to talk to me. Like I said before when I said that DLR does not get due respect this person replied "I know" and I clearly picked up on the tone of voice. They knew exactly what I was talking about.

            CAMPAIGN

I didn't mention the campaign (sorry). I just forgot in all of the excitement of speaking to a person who knows what the deal is when it comes to VH.

I've heard DJ's not remain neutral quite a few times. And I have yet to hear one side with Sam....

Very good work. We need more of this people. You could say it was pointless or didn't change things, but I disagree. Feedback is the basis of popular opinion.

Keep it up and implore everyone do it in for their home area with both radio and print.

                good work soldier...

                  NEUTRAL

What I'm saying is that the best logic for a dj is probably to not get involved publicly in something like this. It's true that some don't stay neutral but I don't want to start shit for a dj who I strongly felt was a DLR VH fan. The program director might not like it for instance. That is why I'm not mentioning the name. Also Arrow 93.1 rarely if ever plays VHagar. It's almost always DLR stuff. I feel that this fact alone states how they feel at the station. I think it's great if a dj says VHagar sucks, I just don't want to say it on thier behalf even if I feel that is what they think privately.

I got ya. Not that I've heard DJ's rag on the Hagar-Era, but I've heard them say they prefer the Roth era. You rarely hear the Hagar stuff on the stations in my area. The only time I heard them in heavy rotation was when they were coming into the station for an interview, and this station never played the Hagar shit before then.

For most of the rock stations I've listened to over the years classic VH has always been the fan favorite even during the years Van Hagar had shit up in the charts.

I had a conversation about 2 and half years ago with the Program director at KLBJ-FM in Austin and he pretty much said it all. The listeners have preferred VH w/ DLR over all other forms consistently in the last decade and a half.

Most radio stations don't need an education on this... their own listener polls and request data support it. As far the campaign I doubt unless it can be tied to ratings most stations aren't going to read any on-air statements regarding the latest tour and DLR sentiment... if it don't help ratings or advertising revenue they aren't going to waste the air-time... IMO,
