As lame as the Hagar/Cherone era's were, I cunt believe 2 people think VH put out a worse tune than this one under the VH moniker....
(Jus sayin)
You have a point, and I agree... I guess it's more like a 1a, 1b, 1c situation... I fucking hate them all. It's like as soon as you think you've got your favorite terrible song, another one just comes along and bumps it.

To me it's not even close. How Many Say I is by far the worst piece of shit they ever unloaded on the public. Up For Breakfast is bad, really bad. but not even close to this horrible song.

I always figured How Many Say I would make a stellar Pink Floyd tune... just throw in Gilmore's guitar and reverb heavy drum tracks with a few synth generated animal noises... instant Roger Waters style hit...
Or the "I wasted 90 bucks on this shit? I want a goddamn refund!" part of the show...
Sadly, VH III is the only VH show I ever left early. I even sat through the entire 2004 show as uncomfortable as it was. They played at the Del Mar Fair in San Diego county that summer. Tickets dropped to $10 the day of and the last couple hours before the show that was $10 for 2 tickets. 2 for 1. We had great spots to watch. On the field about the equivalent of a 15th row. Was absolutlely atrocious. I did not like this new band at all. There was zero Van Halen vibe. I did not feel like it was Van halen at all. Not even 3/4. We left when the show was about 2/3 done.
I remember walking through the parking lot to my car hearing them playing Panama in the distance and being very, very sad.
The only song I enjoyed was Somebody Get Me A Doctor with Michael Anthony singing. I really felt instead of Cherone, they should have just done it 3-man and let Mike handle all the vocals.

VH III was the final proof I needed that Andy John's assessment of Ed was spot on.......the guys an amazing guitarist but he thinks he's a musical genius and he's just a great guitarist, period. [paraphrasing]
VH III is a total Ed album and like Zappa said.......Shut up and play your guitar!

I bet Gary got Ed from behind one night while Ed was on the Smokin' Loon, being soul mates and all. When he sobered up he remembered it and took to the meth to forget.
