And you're right it just doesn't make any business sense at all.

Probably, asshole Alex's doing more than Edward's.

just last night I seen it again and now dave is being shown. funny thing is before it was all sam and dave was obviously cut out. now he is in the commercial.

I saw it last thursday during SMACKDOWN. Many cool Dave clips, but LAME to have to do that to sell cds.

Re. the commercial release of any classic VH DVDs (Largo, etc.), I don't see it happening for at least 5 to 10 years, depending how long this Spam Sham lasts.

They'll never put any of it out as long as Spam's the singer, obviously. Even if Spam was out of the picture, I don't think they would release any DLR era DVDs for a long time. Eddie seems to really be blocking out the past and acting like it never existed, regardless of the commercial potential being ignored.

They probably would only do it to coincide with a DLR reunion (will that ever happen; I don't think so), if even then, or if Eddie dies, as someone has said.
"What we've been doing, which is great and certainly cost saving, is I train in the sand pit in McDonald's. I do a few laps. I go through the tunnel a few times. The kids don't mind if I smoke. Plus, when I'm done, lunch is right there."- DLR 2003

I'd like to see some quality full colour footage of the original line up in concert remastered on DVD. Will they ever release this kind of thing I wonder?
Dave very recently confirmed in an interview that Ed's got TONS of audio/video live AND studio stuff - ALL UNRELEASED from the DLR era - in his personal vaults, but thus far has refused to release any of it.

"Honey, my shirt got itself torn up. My shirt tore itself on that stripper's hand, and I need it to be sewed up for the show."
"No problem, Dave, no problem. Say hello to Fluffy."
                  "Fuck you, Fluffy."
"No, no, you're going to upset Fluffy."
"I ain't saying hello to no stuffed bear."
"You know, now that I think about it, it's going to take a little longer to sew up that shirt than I was thinking."
                  "Hi Fluffy, how you been?"
"Now that I'm thinking of it even more, it's going to take half the time, Double D, Diamond Dave! Would you hold Fluffy?"
                  "N--- yeah."

Does anybody else remember Dave, in the early 1980's, talking about how VH were filming shows to make a movie out of? He said that VAN HALEN's movie would be like "at the end of that WHO movie, when Townsend does the slide across the stage on his knees, our movie will be like one long knee slide across the stage." If that thing(VAN HALEN live circa1980-81') were to ever see the light of day......THE MIND JUST BOGGLES!!!!! We'd all go back to asking, "SPAMMY WHO?"
