      It is the 25th anniversary of Eatem and Smile today. Hard to frickin believe. I think about that album and can still remember the feeling i got on release day going to the mall to pick it up.

        One thing that I have not heard Since MA has not been in the band are those incredible "California", "Van Halen" harmonies. It'll never be the same to me listening to the old tunes.

                Classic Van Halen was a fine tuned machine. Like a great engine if you change one part on it you fuck the system. Mike was a part of that classic engine. Him and Ed had the perfect background vocals plus he could be a monster on bass and not get in the way. Perfect. Van Halen was more than Eddie just tearing it up on guitar and Roth's crazy frontman stunts.
