It is difficult to vote for 1984 over a more guitar oriented album like Iron Maiden's Powerslave or hell, even Wasp's self titled album. There is a lot of killer stuff on this list - Love At First Sting and Rising Force as well. Being the Roth Army soldier i am, however, i voted for the home team anyway.

Is it really gonna matter who "wins" in a poll about musical preferences?
Stryper can knock Van Halen's dick in the dirt on some online poll, and it ain't gonna make Stryper any "better" (whatever that means) than Van Halen to my ears. I mean, it's music, not an athletic competition.
Should Stryper prevail, it could mean nothing more than more Stryper fans vs. Van Halen fans who have the time on their hands to participate in something so meaningless in the first place.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment

Em... Sorry, I had never heard nor read aboui that "Stryper". Very strange... I'm wondering how they can cheat
so as to top that poll...
I dug "Love at first sting" back then, but that could never compare to "1984". The Scorps' songs have something
ridiculous IMO, in the lyrics and the fat choruses. "Big city, big city nights", "bad boys running wild", pfff...
Still dig a couple of riffs and solos in there, but it sure doesn't make it compared to the last album of the six-pack.
Anyway those polls suck - "Perfect Strangers" and "Couldn't stand the weather" are so far from where they should be ranked,
I think, that is at least in the top 4, and what to think of how many votes "ride the lightning" got?
And how many deaf and dumb people will take that for granted?
