... i've downgraded my expectations regarding a new vh album featuring dlr from blindly hopeful to downright skeptical. nikki sixx announced a few months back on his radio show that he was of the belief that a lead-off single would be release before the end of 2010 and an album would quickly follow. however, no single and no news of an album ...

This Nikki Sixx info is pretty cool. I interviewed Nikki a few years ago when he was promoting his 'Heroin Diaries' book and I jokingly hit him up for tickets to Van Halen's Los Angeles show. He laughed and said that he had been talking with Alex earlier that day because they were neighbours. (that of which I did not know) So for Nikki to give a Van Halen update, that's pretty f**king cool.Comment

To be fair, Andrew at Melodicrock does drop the odd scoop now and then. But I've always suspected his sources were from the Sammy Hagar camp (he is a devoted Van Hagar fan). Now I think his sources are a little further removed so his information is always sketchy. Melodicrock is now reporting that VH are in the studio next week but VHND had already said late last year that they are recording this month - so no news there. And the stuff about Eddie rejecting Dave's lyrics/ideas throughout 2010 is such a predictable thing to state - again no news there either. Just more peddling of the Eddie/Dave conflict thing.Comment
