Well, at the very least, it sounds like it has the potential to be miles above the rehashed Van Halen 101 fluff that comprised the Everybody Wants Some book of a couple years' back.

I dunno. I have as yet to read anything about the band that is nearly as enthralling as simply listening to the music.

      Come on, you silly rabbits....

You all know it's just a matter of time before the band themselves give us the full story....

      Or maybe not....

That's the biggest problem with the Kindle and iPad ---- now all these liberal arts college dropouts have fake careers writing bullshit for these dumb devices

The problem with smart phones is everyone wants to ream you up the ass for the applications and connection services. My main beef with the iPad is the lack of connectivity ports. Kind of a cool concept but at the end of the day, you are probably better off just buying a laptop.

Yeah, this was just before the Cafe Wha? Alcohol and Internet Binge of 2012. Geez, what a night. Epic.

I started reading the book. It's very interesting. I'm less than 50 pages in and it's not your typical second hand band biography that most of us know by heart. So far it's dealing with some of the back story of the Strip, the culture and the artists preceeding VH's dominance of the Strip and is setting up the scene of just before VH started to really get noticed. It's really good and it's a hell of a lot better than most of the "books" out there dealing with the Mighty Van Halen. And it's not just about VH but about the culture and the scene that affected the band and made it what it was. You guys should check it out. I know I'm not doing it justice by my mini-less-than-50-pages-in review but you get the idea.

I read it in the Summer. It's not bad. It's more a book about DLR than the band as a whole. The Bass Player barely gets mentioned for example. Lots of DLR quotes which are always entertaining.
