Thought it was already leaked as "Start Your Engines"? No?

Here's the scoop over at the Links:

I'm guessing that on thursday nights Cafe Wha show we'll know the new songs title, and they might even play it aswell as another cuppla newies....BUT!!! has anyone tried to work out what this album is going to be called?? i've been googling new york central system for clues, as i'm guessing its a title to fit with the train.... these are just random guesses, but could be totally wrong... "Blowin' steam" "Steamliner" "VanHalen - Built" in referance to Vandenbuilt. "Runaway train" I hope

                Saw this on-line. WTF?

Whether published as a "Promotional gimmick" or an outright mistake on their website, Target.com released the graphic for the new Van Halen album, to be released on February 7, 2012. While viewable online for less than two minutes on New Year's Day (Jan. 01, 2012) and according to their traffic counter, the site received only 644 hits during this time period, astute Van Halen fans were presented with the ad copy which will be published the Sunday before the album is released. Cover artwork is slightly different from the logos already published, depicting a train with the Van Halen logo in the top right corner. In the graphic published on Target.com, the angle of the train is altered, with Eddie Van Halen's "striping" effect added to the locomotive. The VH logo is still present in the upper right corner, and from the text below, the new album is alleged to read "Start Your Engines"

Anyone have the photo with the striping effect?

What about " Streamlined" now that all the fatty tissue has been removed from the band?

lessee .. a 1 eyed train has been a metaphor in rock/music since before 'train kept a rollin' ..'

                        then there is wiki's description

"The forte of all Hudsons was power at speed. " - sounds like Ed and Dave on good days

also on wiki -one of the trains was advertised / named "20th Century Limited." - that would be a cool LP name too

(one of the trains was Commodore Vanderbilt - maybe why the Commodores used the train pic previuosly ..? )

to keep it simple it looks like they used a machine that was the powerhouse of it's day that owned NYC rails - it could be why the choose to open in NYC - to power out of NYC like the Mighty Hudson - 20th Century LTD - and steam roll the world with a grittier sound than the happy/bright California sound that they might not be tapping from their goofy fun loving hey day - but rather a House of Pain or Mean Streets, NYC black and white gritty Rock sound - & therefore the massive industrial tour train

Dave always seemed to like train metaphors too. Roth used to love introducing the song Panama by saying "All aboard for the train leaving for Panama" and then there is the solo track "Big Train". The train thing would appear to be a Diamond Dave direction

And don't forget a bit of the train motif in the California girls video
