To be fair, last night on That Metal Show he gave some SERIOUS love to A Different Kind of Truth. Talked at length about how phenomenal he thought it was, said every song but Tattoo was awesome. Florentine really liked it a lot as well, said it had eight great songs on it. Jamieson said he thought it had four great songs on it and the rest was ok."Don't want 'em to get you goat, don't show 'em where it's hid." - David Lee RothComment

But he HAS to. Because anyone with ears knows this album kicks ass & Eddie Trunk just can't get away saying anything negative about it without losing any shred of credibility he has left. Trust me, the guy would still toss Sammys salad and slit Roths throat to get Sam back in the band if given the chance.
Trunks opinion is usually what he thinks the cool peoples opinion is....so he thinks he fits in. I swear, he is exactly like Stewart in Beavis & Butthead trying to fit in with the cool kids by wearing his Winger shirt.
And this isn't just a VH thing. Maybe as a host he has to kiss everyones ass to keep them coming on the show.“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”Comment

Well, maybe he has finally seen the way of Roth & REAL Van Halen. I think this new album might correct a lot of fans that were Hagar fans before to what the Mighty Van Halen is capable of when firing on all cylinders. Just hard for me to give him the benefit of the doubt after all the shit he has said about our guy over the years. It's easy to say Dave is the man now. There have been times over the last 15 years where it wasn't so easy to stick by him........
.......we did.
I don't know. I think part of it is me being jealous or something. Not jealous, umm, can't think of the right words. But we have been supporting Dave and saying how great he is all these years and suddenly everyone hops on due to this great album claiming their love for the Diamond one. Kinda makes me angry. I don't know. But I DO know that you guys here at this site get what I'm trying to say. I suppose I gotta let it go & just enjoy the music. Still kinda irks me though.“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”Comment

I would also like to point out that on the episode in question where Trunk was arguing for A Different Kind of Truth over Metallica's Death Magnetic, a funny thing happened when they interviewed Jack Russell of Great White. Jack was talking about how the Great White guys had dicked him over by filing to renew the trademark in their name while he was sick and bed ridden. Jack said that the band would never be the same because they didn't have his voice. He said you can replace the other instruments and still have the voice and continue on. He likened what Great White is doing to be like Van Halen going on without David Lee Roth - it's just not the same. They showed Eddie Trunk's face when Jack said that and Eddie had the most pissed look on his face. He just sat there looking dumb - durrrrrrrrrrRIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE

At Least Trunk has been playing tunes from ADKOT on his radio show on 104.3 in nyc on Saturday Nights.....Heard Bullethead last week. Also heard Trouble With Never on 103.9 wrcn here on Long Island the other day. Makes me wonder why VH released Tatto as their first single.....Comment

Yeah, but on one of the most recent episodes the end-of-show throwdown was Eat 'Em & Smile vs. 5150. Trunk was totally in the bag for Van Hagar.
The other two dipshit hosts were full-on Roth, wondering aloud how Trunk could prefer 5150 over such tunes as Shyboy and Elephant Gun. The guest panelists were Mick Brown, Jeff Pilson and George Lynch, and they all sided with 5150 as well, with Lynch piping in that all Eat 'Em ended up being was Roth's attempt to throw a band together that sounded like classic Van Halen.
It's like, um...yeah? Why NOT throw a band together that sounds like CVH?Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment
