The venues want a taste of the merchandise sold in their venues. It's why the costs of merchandise is so high now. They ream you to park, you pay $200 for a ticket. The beer is $10. A shirt is $30. I'm surprised they don't charge you to go to the pisser. That will be next.

Back in the early 90s some friends of mine opened for Kings X at the local Coliseum in Wichita, KS.

We only wanted to sell the shirts for 10 bucks each, and I was in charge of merch....but they said no, they had to sell them for 22 bucks. I think we actually sold 5 shirts, but we would have sold a lot more if we were allowed to sell them at the price we wanted.

Oh well. Live and learn.
