The venues want a taste of the merchandise sold in their venues. It's why the costs of merchandise is so high now. They ream you to park, you pay $200 for a ticket. The beer is $10. A shirt is $30. I'm surprised they don't charge you to go to the pisser. That will be next.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

Back in the early 90s some friends of mine opened for Kings X at the local Coliseum in Wichita, KS.
We only wanted to sell the shirts for 10 bucks each, and I was in charge of merch....but they said no, they had to sell them for 22 bucks. I think we actually sold 5 shirts, but we would have sold a lot more if we were allowed to sell them at the price we wanted.
