Yep...and now look what we have...6 years later, one tour in the books...a very HAPPY group of guys looking like they've finally found and appreciate what they mean to each other...a kickass new single...the new album about to drop...and another tour ready to go...

    Wolf made it happen...

We are on the threshold of greatness because of that kid. He can play. He can sing. But most importantly, I believe he saved his dad's life and reunited the greatest band in rock. I'm cutting the kid miles of slack based on that alone. Thanks Wolf - it's going to be a fun ride!

Wolf I hope feels more comfortable onstage now. Looked like he was getting more onto it at the wha.

OR.... Maybe the 4 of them have found that perfect balance where they aren't at each others throats. VERY easy to understand the pressure in the early 80's but now... who cares if this albums sinks or swims, the first 6 stand alone regardless. If they have that attitude they can just relax and have fun. I can tell you 10 years ago we all weren't expecting the reunion. It looked like we might be burying the guitarist back then (and I mean cancer of the throat as well as cancer of the Hagar.)
              On ya Wolfie mate!

If ever the chance, I'd grab Wolf's hand with both of mine, shaking it firmly saying, "Thank you very much."

I believe the answer to the original question is: Wolf himself is the contribution.

Let's not forget that Mikey chose the Ched side.

                      Wolfie's contribution?
Here's what Wolfe's side of the stage sounds like. It's pretty obvious what his contribution is.

No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

Personally, I don't think it's a ridiculous question. Mike could play bass, and yet Eddie played the bass tracks on VHIII and, allegedly, parts of Balance as well. Who knows what else over the years.

I happen to think that Wolfie probably played the bass parts on the new record, but I don't see it as a given either.

Others have said this but I feel like reiterating it. I'm not sure we'd have any new VH (w/Dave) without Wolf's influence. I think the kid forced his father to see the potential of working with Dave again.

I remember reading somewhere that Ed thought MA didn't play well at all on Fair Warning. I wouldn't be surprised if MA was replaced on tracks throughout the history of VH. You can hear how the bass becomes way under the mix the more albums VH created. You could actually hear the bass on on the first 6 albums...

I think a lot of folks view bass as a fairly simplistic instrument to play... sure it's only got 4 strings and anyone can go thump, thump, thump on an open string... but timing and holding a tight groove ain't anywhere on East Street!! It ain't like drums...

Mike is great bass player. Not a Geddy Lee but more in the zone Billy Cox from Hendrix fame or Dusty Hill from ZZ Top fame.

The Cafe Wha? gig shows Wolfgang has some chops and can bring it to the woodshed... No need foe Ed to play... he ain't that good on bass anyhow.
