I recall seeing a video clip from the Hide Your Sheep Tour featuring a duet jam between Ed and Alex that included bits and pieces of "Girl Gone Bad", two years before it turned up on 1984.
US Festival, no ??

"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth
It could have been. I've looked and looked for the damned thing at Youtube, and I can't seem to find it. I'm not sure if it was part of Ed's solo or Alex's, but between the two of them, there about a 1000 videos to go through.
Thanks man. I was just about to post that it was from the "SGMAD" medley, as I finally found a horrible version of it from Caracas in 1983. Don't ask me where Mike Anthony is on this version.
I heard they never played Top Jimmy live because of an electric accident or so, it could have killed Edward while they where rehearsing it, so Eddie decided to ban it forever. Is this a kind of truth or a different kind of kabala? I guess it is just gigolie, he,he... Roth on!!!

That's weird - I've heard this urban legend as well. Something about the guitar that was differently tuned specifically for 'Top Jimmy' wasn't grounded right. If Ed had actually rehearsed that song he would have been fried, so they decided to drop that song altogether from the set list. Or is this story being mixed up with another urban legend from another iconic rock band (seems like I've heard this story with Keef and the Stones as well...)

So how did they find this out? Did they fry a roadie instead?
